To our community:
FEMMEBIT chooses to support the Black Lives Matter movement, a nurturing community that is bonded together through restorative justice. At this time, Black Lives Matter is a crucially needed community that practices empathy and engages its comrades with the intent to connect within their unique contexts and perspectives.
We hope to facilitate awareness and empathy on a global level and here in Los Angeles, to help all people feel seen, understood, and connect in more profound ways. We are humbled that our organization has resonated with so many of you, and honored by our FEMMEBIT community. With these intentions, we feel it’s vital to call attention to the systemic racism and terror that the Black community has endured for hundreds of years, culminating in senseless violence and murders. We commit to do everything we can to support the Black community and amplify Black voices.
If you would like to join us in this effort, below are some resources and organizations to help get started. Please consider donating and raising awareness within your respective communities and local representatives for this very important cause.
We realize in our support of female-identifying and LGBTQQIP2SAA persons in the computer arts, we must also do this as we highlight Black and POC voices—specifically to dismantle white supremacy. We encourage dialogue and questions. We encourage responses from our audience on what you would like to see from our digital community.
